Nostos Privacy Policy

Nostos values users' personal information and processes personal information only to the extent necessary to provide the service, including report generation, storage of reports within user accounts, PDF download, payment verification, and customer support.

Article 1. Purposes of Processing

Nostos processes personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Account creation and login management
  2. Report generation
  3. Storage and viewing of reports within user accounts
  4. Provision of PDF download functionality
  5. Payment verification and purchase history management
  6. Refunds, error verification, and customer inquiries
  7. Service security, error verification, and prevention of improper use
  8. Compliance with legal obligations and dispute response

Article 2. Personal Information Collected

Nostos may collect the following information to provide the service:

  1. Account information: email address, login provider information, account identifier, registration date, and recent login date
  2. Report generation information: name or alias, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, report type, and additional information entered by the user
  3. Relationship report information: the other person's name or alias, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, and information required for relationship interpretation
  4. Payment information: payment amount, payment date and time, order number, payment status, and refund processing information
  5. Usage information: access date and time, IP address, browser and device information, cookies, error logs, report generation and download records, and customer support inquiry records

Nostos does not directly store sensitive original payment information such as full credit card numbers or bank account passwords.

Article 3. Methods of Collection

Personal information may be collected during account registration, login, report request, payment, customer support inquiry, and service use.

Payment status and order information may be received through payment processors.

Article 4. Retention and Use Period

Nostos retains personal information until the purpose of processing is achieved.

  1. Account information: until membership withdrawal or account deletion request
  2. Report generation information and generated reports: while the user maintains the account
  3. Records on contracts or withdrawal of offers: 5 years
  4. Records on payment and service provision: 5 years
  5. Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years
  6. Records on display and advertising: 6 months

Information that must be retained under applicable laws may be stored separately for the required period.

Article 5. Deletion

Nostos deletes personal information without delay when the retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved.

Electronic files are deleted in a way that makes recovery difficult. Paper documents, if any, are shredded or incinerated.

Article 6. Third-Party Provision

Nostos does not provide users' personal information to third parties in principle.

Exceptions may apply where the user has consented, where required by law, or where there is a lawful request from an investigative agency, court, or administrative authority.

Article 7. Entrustment of Processing

Nostos may entrust the following tasks to external service providers to provide the service:

  1. Cloud server and data storage
  2. Login and authentication
  3. Payment processing
  4. Operation of the report generation system
  5. Email delivery and customer support
  6. Error monitoring and service analytics

Nostos uses Lovable for web app hosting, deployment, and operating infrastructure, and PortOne and payment providers connected through PortOne for payment processing.

Other specific processors and the scope of processing may be disclosed on the website or in a separate notice as required by service operations and applicable law.

Article 8. International Transfer

If the cloud, payment, authentication, report generation, or email services used by Nostos operate servers outside Korea, personal information may be processed overseas.

Where international transfer occurs, Nostos will disclose required information through this Policy or a separate notice.

Article 9. Cookies

Nostos may use cookies or similar technologies for login maintenance, user setting storage, security management, and service improvement.

Users may refuse or delete cookies through browser settings. However, if cookies are restricted, some functions such as login, payment, and report viewing may be limited.

Article 10. User Rights

Users may request access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, or account deletion regarding their personal information.

Requests may be submitted through account settings or customer support email.

Article 11. Input of Another Person's Information

When requesting a relationship report or a report related to another person, the user may enter that person's date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth.

The user must have legitimate authority or consent to enter such information. The user is responsible for issues arising from unauthorized entry of another person's information.

Article 12. Children Under 14

Nostos does not, in principle, provide services to children under the age of 14.
